Our dance company needs studio time and space to develop our unique movement vocabulary and translate our movement style into choreography. Right now, IDC is creating its own summer residency – any support of this kind – help securing a studio or dojo at a discounted rate, modest stipends for dancers for their time and effort are essential ways to help us feel that our work matters and to legitimate it. Through this kind of support we will create pieces that we can perform for audiences, who then have a chance to experience, bear witness to, and connect with a nascent novel art form. This is the kind of support dancers in our under-represented worlds need. IDC looks forward to creating a fully-articulated piece where each move has been chosen, practiced and placed within a dance narrative. Thank you!
