mali“I met Pampi and Loreto during the “Divine Feminine” event they produced at “The Temple of Infinite Love” in Somerville, MA in the spring of 2012. From that experience, I saw that Pampi and Loreto are up to something special ~ they are talented, driven, and working hard on the edge of both art and activism.

Some months later, I asked Pampi and her counterpart Melissa in Dois Apsaras (a precursor to In Divine Company) to perform at an upcoming Org, Org: Internationalia. Their temple fusion dance, performed to live sarangi, was utterly beautiful. You can see a video here.

In the fall of 2013, Pampi recruited me to join the newly minted In Divine Company, through which Pampi is exploring the re-integration of the warrior and the temple dancer and visioning new ways of retelling stories rooted in patriarchal contexts. We performed our debut piece “Precious Body” in October. The experience has been truly wonderful – I’ve experienced Pampi’s unique, educated, and open working style that is as much about the process as it is about the product. She has a team of people around her that believe in her and donate time and energy to help her ~ with music, costumes, etc, ~ because they, as do I, believe her work is important.”
